About the artist

Hi! My name is Gracey, and I am a textile artist. I create textile art wall hangings, handmade greeting cards, coasters, bookmarks, and so much more. Most of my fabric is sourced secondhand (either from other makers, scraps from my larger pieces, or from our local creative reuse centers). If I need to buy something new, I always check with our local quilt shops first. I try to be as close to zero waste as I can possibly be, as even my smallest of scraps become something that can be used again (like stickers or fabric tape).

I mostly use methods of improv quilting/piecing and applique, but will sometimes use hand embroidery as well. Quilting had always seemed like a daunting task to me until I discovered the freedom that improv allows! I love the wonkiness of it all. I realize that this style might not be for everyone, and that is ok! I love not following a pattern and just having the freedom to create as I wish.
